General Information

Our mission is to provide sports to underprivileged children throughout the world and to promote sports related community service among our youth.

Sports contribute to a healthy life while providing important life lessons in goal setting, hard work, fair play and teamwork. Sports also give children a safe arena to experience the thrills and challenges of competition. Unfortunately, many children in poverty stricken areas will never have the opportunity to enjoy sports without the aid of Sports Gift. We seek to reach these children to improve their lives and give them hope through a variety of sports programs.

We offer community service programs to America’s youth to increase their awareness of and compassion for underprivileged children who cannot afford to play sports. Our programs and activities seek to provide a pathway between affluent and underprivileged communities such that people of financial means have an opportunity to learn about and support the needs of those less fortunate. Through this effort, we seek to instill in our youth a lifelong commitment to and passion for community service.

Sports Gift collects gently used and new sports equipment on a donation basis which we refurbish and distribute to underprivileged children throughout the world. We work with youth leagues, clubs, schools and other organizations as well as sponsoring sporting goods retailers and manufacturers. Sports Gift has distributed thousands of sports equipment items throughout the world including the United States, Mexico, Central America, Africa, Indonesia and the Middle East.

We were established in 2002 and have been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3). All of our programs are provided in a non-discriminatory manner, without regard to ethnic identity, religious belief or political affiliation.
